Fondazione Torino Musei is launching a selection for the position of DIRECTOR OF PALAZZO MADAMA - MUSEO CIVICO D’ARTE ANTICA, TURIN.

The Director will have the responsibility of defining the development strategy of the Museum, coordinating its programming and activities, taking into account the identities that characterize its history and collections.
The position provides for the following main duties: management and care of the collections; definition and implementation of the Museum’s multi-year exhibition and cultural programming; management of institutional relations and international relations in the cultural field; promotion and strengthening of the Museum’s identity and image, as well as its relationship with the local, national and international community; development of new methods of digital access to the Museum and its artistic heritage; management of the Museum, in compliance with the guidelines and delegated powers, with reference to economic and financial aspects, to the organisation of human resources, to the development of fundraising.
The ideal candidate shall match the following profile: specialized knowledge in history, art history, archaeology, decorative arts, architecture, cultural heritage with particular reference to the arts and historical periods of the Museum's collections, proven by experience in exhibition curating and/or prestigious scientific assignments in the field; several years’ proven experience in the organization and management of public or private cultural organizations, preferably museums; several years’ proven experience in the management of institutional relations and international relations in the cultural field; proven experience in organizational, economic and financial management and in human resource management and organization; proven experience in fundraising activities; working knowledge of Italian, French and English.
The appointment will be for a fixed term, full time assignment, and will last four years. A commitment to reside in the Turin area for the period of the assignment is expressly requested.
